Jammu : Recognizing the importance of career counselling as a guiding force in shaping students’ futures, the Employment Information-cum-Advisory Bureau (EIAB), Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL), University of Jammu, organized a career counselling workshop for Class 11th and 12th students at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office University of Jammu the workshop, held under the supervision of Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Director, DLL, aimed to provide students with insights into career opportunities and strategies for making informed career decisions. Dr. Ranjana Sharma, Principal of GBHSS, welcomed the resource persons and participants, emphasizing the significance of career counselling in equipping students with the knowledge to develop effective career plans.
The resource persons for the workshop included Dr. Rockey Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics, University of Jammu, and Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Assistant Professor, Govt. College of Education, Jammu. Dr. Gupta enlightened the students about career prospects and further study options available in the science stream. Dr. Jamwal engaged the students with interactive activities, highlighting the importance of strong communication skills for professional growth.
The workshop, coordinated by Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor at EIAB, DLL, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 72 students. The students expressed their appreciation for the program, noting its relevance as they prepare for their board examinations and explore future career pathways. Faculty members and school coordinators also attended the session.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sangeeta, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and organizers.
