DC reviews achievements under HADP, establishment of KKGs

Kishtwar: District Development Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan today assessed the achievements under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the establishment of KissanKhidmatGhars (KKGs) in the district here at a meeting.
The Nodal Officer HADP and Chief Agriculture Officer, AmjadHussain Malik, provided a detailed update, highlighting that 29 projects under HADP are being implemented across various sectors in the district. He informed that a total of 7,572 applications were received under agriculture and allied sectors, of which 5,288 applications were approved. This includes 4,355 in Agriculture, 49 in Horticulture, 490 in Animal Husbandry, 164 in Sheep Husbandry, 78 in Sericulture, 18 in Fisheries, and 6 in the Marketing Sector, approved by the District Level Committee (DLC),till date.
Regarding KissanKhidmatGhars (KKGs), it was informed that out of the total 65 sanctioned KKGs, six have been established, four are functional, and the remaining 59 are at various stages of completion.
The DC issued several directions to all the district and sectoral officers to ensure the set targets are achieved in a time bound manner under HADP.
He emphasized the need for solar and internet connectivity at KKGs and directed officials to expedite farmer registrations. He set the deadline to finalize the recruitment of KrishiUdhyamis under the second phase to ensure all KKGs become operational without delay.
Further, the DC instructed Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) to achieve their set targets within a time-bound framework, warning that failure to do so would result in penalties.
The Tehsildars and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) were directed to collaborate with revenue staff and field functionaries to facilitate farmers for registrations under HADP and Land seeding across all clusters in an encumbrance free manner.
The achievements under the skilling program were also reviewed. It was noted that 142 farmers have completed training in 121 courses on the DAKSH portal, and 4726 farmers are currently registered. Sectoral departments were tasked with identifying and establishing Vegetable clusters to enhance agricultural productivity in the district.
The meeting also reviewed the physical and financial achievements under various schemes in Horticulture, Fisheries, Sheep Husbandry, and Animal Husbandry sectors.
The DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to uplifting the agricultural economy of Kishtwar and urged all stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of schemes.
The meeting was attended by ACR Idrees Lone, CPO Shahnawaz Bali, LDM Harish Rawal, CHO Sajjid Mustafa, DSHO DrJameelNasir, AD Fisheries KulbushanVerma, besides officers and officials of Agriculture and allied sectors.
