3 Arrested, 3 Vehicles Seized For Illegal Extraction, Transportation Of Minerals In Awantipora: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three suspects for being involed in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Awantipora and also seized three vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party from Police Station Khrew headed by SHO Police Station Khrew arrested three suspects identified as Tariq Ahmad Shah S/o Mohd Yaseen Shah, Mohd Ashraf Shah S/o Jalal din both R/o Mandakpal and Nisar Ahmad Ahanger S/o Mohd Kamal R/o Sharshali. Stating that three vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JK13B-8211, JK01M-5270 and JK13F-4742 were seized for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mineral in Mandakpal Khrew. Police in its statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Khrew besides initiating further investigation.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
