Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar on Monday visited District Hospital (DH) Shopian, Sumo Stands at Gagren and Batapora and other sites of car parking to assess and address the issue of car parking and traffic congestion in busiest places of the town.
During the visit, the DC reviewed the existing parking facilities and identified areas experiencing traffic congestion.
The focus of the visit was to find an effective solution for smooth traffic management, enhance parking arrangements, and ensure minimal inconvenience to commuters and visitors. Besides, the DC also took stock of facilities available at stands and the need to develop the deficits.
The DC stressed on departments to streamline traffic flow, prevent roadblocks and improve overall accessibility in the district especially around District Hospital and market centre.
On this occasion, ShahidSaleem directed the ExEn R&B and EO, MC for enhancing parking facilities inside the hospital and transport hubs (stands) to increase parking capacity.
The DC instructed MC authorities to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in and around the town.
The review of progress of ongoing work of Critical Care Unit of DH and inspection of Cooperative Fair Price Shop in the hospital was also taken on the occasion.
The DC was accompanied by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone; ACR, Ex. Engineer R&B, Tehsildar, Shopian, CEO, MC and other concerned.
