Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers including a woman and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Bijbehara at a checkpoint established within their jurisdiction arrested a woman drug peddler identified as Gulshana W/o Mohammad Yousuf Ganie R/o Takiya Maksood Shah, Bijbehara and recovered 8 Kgs of a Cannabis Powder from her possession.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action in Srinagar also a police party during patrolling in Rakh Arth Axis, arrested a drug peddler identified as Sahil Hameed S/o Abdul Hamid Parray R/o Ramber Garh Shalteng Srinagar and during search recovered 60 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No.73/2024 was registered besides initiating investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with inputs about drug peddling in their neighbourhood, Warning therein that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
