MLA Hiranagar reviews developmental scenario in Home Constituency

Kathua: Member Legislative Assembly Hiranagar Vijay Kumar Sharma chaired an introductory meeting with District and Sectoral Officers of the Kathua administration here on Saturday in the Meeting Hall of Government Degree College.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Surinder Mohan; Sub Divisional Magistrate(SDM) HiranagarRakesh Kumar; Superintending Engineer (SE) PWD (R&B); XENs from different departments including PWD, Irrigation, Flood Control, and PDD, as well as other officials representing various departments.
SDM Hiranagar welcomed MLA Hiranagar in the introductory meeting and provided a detailed briefing on the works and schemes of various departments.
The meeting focused on the status of projects funded under District CAPEX, including District Development Council (DDC), Block Development Council (BDC) and Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) grants. Officers from Public Health Engineering (PHE), Public Works Department (PWD), Rural Development Department (RDD), Irrigation, Flood Control, Handicrafts & Handloom, District Industries Centre (DIC), Employment, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare, ICDS, and Health provided updates on the ongoing initiatives.
The MLA, while taking review of the flagship scheme JalJeevan Mission, laid stress on expediting the works to complete the work of laying the underground pipes. He also laid stress on the proper functioning of the Ration Depots and timely distribution of the Ration to the eligible.
The MLA also enquired about the employment opportunities for the local youth in the industries and encouraged the departmental heads to prioritize development in the area.
MLA Vijay Kumar Sharma called on field functionaries to work with dedication to fulfill the district’s developmental goals in alignment with public aspirations.
Vijay Kumar Sharma emphasised the need for collaborative efforts from all departments to meet the district’s developmental goals and fulfill the aspirations of the public. He also stressed on following the zero tolerance policy against corruption and maintaining high quality of work. He reiterated the importance of working together to ensure that Kathua’s growth continues in line with the vision of the government.
