Jammu Municipal Commissioner takes stock of civic amenities in Ward no 53

Jammu : Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr. Devansh Yadav on Saturday conducted the tour of VasantViharTrikuta Nagar in Ward No. 53 to take stock of the grievances of the residents of the ward related to sanitation and cleanliness of the deep drains.
During the tour, the Commissioner directed Joint Commissioner (Works) to prepare estimates for repairing damaged lanes/drains. The Executive Engineer (Electric) was also directed to repair and replace dysfunctional and damaged streetlights on urgent basis. The Commissioner, JMC also issued instructions to the Chief Transport Officer to de-silt the nallahs at the regular intervals to avoid accumulation of garbage and over flooding.
The Commissioner further checked the attendance of the sanitation staff and took feedback from the public, who expressed satisfaction over the sanitation of the area. It also came to the notice that in some areas, door-to-door collection of garbage is not being done on regular basis. The Joint Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) was directed to furnish the detail of wards where households are more than 400 for a single auto, so that the deficit areas are managed accordingly.
Later, the JMC Commissioner conducted an extensive survey of the city, covering Ward No. 6 Gujjar Nagar, Ward No. 5 Peerkho and Ward No. 67, Muthi, for identification of vacant/barren lands for plantation/development of green spaces under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
The Commissioner, JMC stated that the aim of conducting the tour in the ward is to redress the grievances of the residents on the urgent basis and assured them that the Corporation shall continue its efforts to provide instant resolution of the grievances of the people of Jammu city.
The Joint Commissioner (Health and Sanitation), Abdul Sattar, Joint Commissioner (Works), Firdous Ahmed Qazi, Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma, Executive Engineer (E), JMC, Simarpal Singh, CTO, JMC, DharamVir Singh and other officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation also accompanied Commissioner JMC during the tour.
