Rajouri: Taking cognizance of a video circulating on social media highlighting poor quality blacktopping on the Shadra Sharief to Sohra Bridge road, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma on Saturday conducted on-site inspection.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the road’s condition and reviewed the quality of blacktopping work. Expressing concern over the lapses, he directed the concerned department to immediately initiate an inquiry to ascertain the facts and fix responsibility.
“Ensuring transparency and accountability in developmental works is our top priority. Any compromise on quality will not be tolerated,” the Deputy Commissioner stated during his visit.
He further instructed the executing agency to take corrective measures wherever required and submit a detailed report on the matter at the earliest. The DC emphasized the importance of adhering to prescribed standards in road construction to create durable infrastructure for the public.
Later, the DC visited several key locations in Thanamandi. He inspected the Government Middle School at Shadra Sharief, where he reviewed the school’s infrastructure and directed for any necessary improvements. He also visited the new hospital building complex in Thanamandi to assess the progress of construction and emphasized the timely completion of the facility to enhance healthcare services in the area.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of the Municipal Committee Thanamandi, discussing developmental issues and ongoing projects. He directed officials to ensure efficient delivery of services and address public grievances promptly.
The district administration assured the public that necessary actions will be taken to address concerns related to infrastructure and services delivery in Thanamandi and adjoining areas.
