Khansahib: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Friday urged the tourism department to prioritize winter tourism activities in Doodhpathri to ensure that destination remains accessible to tourists during the winter season without any difficulty.
In a statement issued from party headquarters here on Friday Hakeem underscored the need to finalize all the arrangements for winter tourism in Doodhpathri for the intending tourists . He said initiatives in this regard should primarily focus on introduction of skiing and other winter sports to attract visitors in large numbers. He has also demanded construction of the proposed cable car project in Doodhpathri on priority basis adding that survey for the proposed project has already been conducted .He has demanded that DPR of the prestigious tourism project should be approved at the earliest. The PDF Chairman also urged for expediting work on ski lift in Doodhpathri , enabling tourists and skiing enthusiasts to enjoy the facilities during the winter months. Yaseen has also sought execution of work on the cable car projects from Sitharn to Tosamaidan and Tosamaidan to Loren Poonch without further delay adding that the project has already been approved by the Government. He said early completion of these vital tourism projects were imperative for socio- economic transformation and prosperity of Khansahib and its adjoining areas besides giving a big boost to the overall tourism activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Once these projects are completed, the whole area would witness a boost in employment generation and economic activities, Hakeem Yaseen maintained.
