During her visit, Dr. Sharma met with the District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and held detailed discussions on the key initiatives, including the establishment of Community Managed Training Centre (CMTC), Van DhanVikasKendras (VDVKs) and the District Rural Haat. The discussions emphasised strengthening of rural livelihood opportunities and achieving convergence with other departments for holistic development.
Dr. Sharma reviewed the achievements under the Annual Action Plan (AAP) of JKRLM and assessed the implementation of different schemes in the district. She inaugurated a newly established spices production unit set up by a Self-Help Group (SHG) member and inspected several other livelihood units developed by SHG members, showcasing their entrepreneurial endeavors.
A significant highlight of the visit was Dr. Sharma’s interaction with “LakhpatiDidis,” SHG members who have achieved financial independence through their successful initiatives. She listened to their inspiring success stories and commended their efforts in transforming their lives and contributing to the local economy.
Dr. Sharma reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering rural women through skill development, financial support, and entrepreneurial opportunities. She encouraged SHG members to continue innovating and utilizing the resources provided under JKRLM for sustainable growth.
She underscored the importance of promoting grassroots development and fostering a spirit of self-reliance among rural communities in Rajouri.
