Udhampur: A surprise market inspection was conducted on Tuesday in Udhampur town by a joint team of officers from the Revenue, Police and Municipal Council departments, led by Rajinder Kumar Digra, Executive Officer Municipal Council Udhampur.
The drive was aimed at addressing illegal encroachments in market areas, ensuring smooth pedestrian and vehicular traffic and maintaining order in the bustling town.
During the inspection, several cases of public area encroachments were identified. The enforcement teams recovered Rs.13,800 fine from the violators.
The EO MC emphasized the critical importance of maintaining discipline in public spaces and directed the enforcement teams to take stringent action against habitual offenders.
The Municipal Council has issued a public appeal urging shopkeepers, vendors and other stakeholders to adhere strictly to municipal guidelines.
