DC attends 71st Cooperative week celebrations in Udhampur

Udhampur: The 71st Cooperative week celebrations were observed with great enthusiasm in Udhampur, with Deputy Commissioner SaloniRai as the chief guest.
The event, organized by the Cooperative Department, witnessed participation from Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, NishthaNayyar, Chairman of Devika Urban Cooperative Bank, Hans Raj Sharma, Founder of Ex-Serviceman Cooperative Society and general public of Udhampur town.
During the event, DC presented a cheque of Rs. 20,000 to SudhMahadev Honey Producer Cooperative, acknowledging their efforts in honey production and sales facilitated by Alliance Women Multi-purpose Cooperative Ltd. The DC also distributed mementos to the winners of painting competition and motivated them to contribute creatively to the cooperative movement.
Deputy Registrar Cooperative during welcome address highlighted pivotal role of cooperatives in empowering people and contributing towards the vision of a prosperous and developed India. She elaborated on various initiatives undertaken by cooperative societies in the district to strengthen livelihoods and promote self-reliance.
The event featured an exhibition of stalls set up by various cooperative societies, showcasing a wide range of products, including honey, handicrafts, and agricultural produce.
