Srinagar, Nov 18: Security forces busted an underground militant hideout in  Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said on Monday.
They said the hideout of “The Resistance Front” outfit, which is believed to be a shadow group of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was busted by a joint team of Shopian police, Army and CRPF deep inside the forests of Shukroo Keller.
“During the search operation, arms and ammunition and items such as blankets, edible items, and personal use items, trunks were recovered,” a senior police officer said.
He said a massive search is still going on to trace the militants who were using this underground hideout.
The busting of hideout is part of ongoing efforts by police and other security forces to disrupt and dismantle terrorist operations in the region, the officer said.
