Kulgam : In a resolute effort to curb illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals, Kulgam police on Saturday seized 6 vehicles and arrested six persons In a major crackdown in Kulgam district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Kulgam Police along with officers of geology and mining department in its continuous drive and action against illegal mining, extraction and transporting of sand, Gravel, Boulders and other minerals from nallahs illegally especially in river Veshaw, arrested six persons and seized six vehicles including 01 JCB, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of Minerals.
Stating that cases were registered at Police station Qazigund under FIR No. 252/2024 and FIR No 104 & 105/2024 at Police station Qaimoh under relevant sections of law besides initiating further investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to inform nearby police unit or Dial 112 regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighborhood .
