Police cracks down on drug peddlers, Illegal miners, other anti-social elements in B’pora

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested five drug peddlers in Bandipora and recovered 3.5 Kgs of Charas Powder, 20 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from them, adding therein that seven vehicles carrying illegal mining material have been seized besides which 4 gamblers have been also arrested at different places in the district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the three bank accounts of a notorious drug peddler have been freezed under NDPS Act having savings of more than five lakhs acquired through sale of narcotics substances in case FIR No.174/2024 of PS Sumbal.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding any illegal activities in their neighbourhood to nearest police station.
