Doda : In a unique educational initiative, Government Higher Secondary School Gandoh organized an industrial tour for students to the Donadi Hydroelectric Power Project under Samagra Shiksha.
The aim was to provide students a firsthand look at the technology and processes involved in generating clean energy.
A group of 55 ninth-grade students, accompanied by five staff members, embarked on this educational journey. The tour was flagged off by the school principal, Mohammad Ayoub Sheikh.
At the project site, students were guided by project in-charge Sunil Kumar and his team of experts. They were shown the intricate machinery and the ingenious process of harnessing the power of the Kalnai River.
The technical staff explained the environmental benefits and societal impact of hydroelectric power generation.
Inspired by the experience, students expressed a strong desire to explore renewable energy sources and potentially contribute to future sustainable energy initiatives. They were particularly impressed by the project’s role in powering local communities and essential services in the district.
The school administration and staff thanked the Samagra Shiksha authorities, the Director of School Education Jammu, the Chief Education Officer Doda, and the management of the Donadi Hydroelectric Power Project for providing this valuable learning opportunity.
