Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: Mega awareness camp on hazards of Drug Abuse, Reproductive Health held at Pouni School

Reasi: Department of Social Welfare Reasi on Wednesday organised a mega awareness program under BetiBachaoBetiPadhao (BBBP) Scheme and NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan here at Government Higher Secondary School Pouni.
More than 300 students drawn from different schools of the area participated in the event
At the outset, School Bags were distributed among the girl students of the Government. Middle School Kalhar, Hygiene Kits among the Girls of GHSS Pouni and Sports Kits were provided to the students of GHS Pouni under BBBP scheme by District Social Welfare Officer Sachin Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, the DSWO laid emphasis on Menstrual Hygiene Management, Reproductive Health, Gender Equality, Women Empowerment and Girl Education. He interacted with the students and sensitized them about the hazardous consequences of drug abuse and motivated them to act as ambassadors to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
The host school Principal SurajPrakashKhajuria also imparted awareness to students regarding the objective of BetiBachaoBetiPadhaoscheme and acknowledged the efforts of the school welfare department for its kind initiative under the scheme.
The students of different schools presented poems and songs on the theme of BBBP scheme. District Mission Coordinator, Monika Sharma Teachers of GHSS Pouni, GHS Pouni and Government Middle School Kalhar were present.
