4 Drug Peddlers Arrested In B’la; Contraband Substances Also Recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers including a lady drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party headed by SHO Police Station Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Mirchipora Tangmarg intercepted two suspects identified as Mohammad Saleem Lone S/o Gh Nabi and Furqaan Ahmad Lone S/o Manzoor Ahmad both residents of MirchiporaTangmarg and during search recovered 35 grams of Charas like substance from their possession.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action in Baramulla also, a Police party led by SHO Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Drangbal Baramulla intercepted two suspects identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Amin R/o Jalsheeri and a lady R/o Chellan Boniyar and during search recovered 70 grams of Charas like substance from their possession.
Stating that all the said accused were arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody, Police in its statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective police stations besides initiating further investigations.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
