Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) has welcomed the decision of the govt. on relaxation in upper age limit for J&K Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE) and increasing it to 35 years for the open merit candidates, which was reduced by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) to 32 years for general candidates and 34 years for reserved categories.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Hakeem while welcoming the decision of the Govt to relax upper age limit for J&K Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE) from 32 years to 35 years , said that the step has brought a big relief to the young aspirants , in view of the prevailing limited employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. He has demanded that the the upper age limited for general candidates to apply for government jobs also needs to be increased to 45 years in view of the burgeoning unemployment problem . He has also urged the Government to fast track recruitment process to fill up existing vacancies in all the government and semi governments departments so that educated unemployed youth could find jobs for thier sustenance.
It is in place to mention here that Government has recently prescribed the upper age limit for open merit candidates as 35 years while for reserved and in-service candidates, the age limit has been increased to 37 years. Hakeem urged the government to announce regularisation of all casual, need based and contractual workers without further delay in accordance with the promises made in manifestoes of almost all the political parties. He said families of daily wagers and need based workers were passing tough times for their survival due to limited source of income.
