Samba : Saying that abrogation of Article 370 brought about a positive and very encouraging turnaround in the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir, with peace process gaining momentum and development scaling new heights, Pradesh BJP Vice President and MLA Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia on Monday cautioned and slammed the National Conference, Congress and their allies for enacting drama over the issue, having potential of bringing miseries to the people again,
Addressing Vijay Rally in Nud Block of Samba this afternoon Slathia said the anti people and anti- J&K temporary constitutional provision is now buried for all times to come and the passions being generated by the Congress-NC is nothing but negating the reality. Slathia said the people of Jammu and Kashmir in general and the Valley in particular are fully aware how the post Article 370 repeal era manifested in unprecedented tourist footfall resulting in economic surge in both the regions. He said the people have also realized the futility of alien gun culture and developed stakes in peace for development, progress, and prosperity. This has turned turtle the apple cart of those banking on boiling Kashmir and thriving on instability and unrest for furthering their political agenda for decades. But, seeing the peoples’ preference for peace over stone-pelting and economic activity over shut-down syndrome, a new era of deliverance been ensured in tune with the vision and path breaking initiatives of the Prime Minister which were implemented with sincerity of purpose during five years, he added.
He assailed the reactionary policies being played by the National Conference and the Congress to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere again and said that the BJP will thwart all their machinations to push J&K again to era of instability and hostility. They must remember that the tourism being the major mainstay in this part of the country is hugely dependent on peace and this realisation among the people has made all the difference during the past five years. Therefore, instead of indulging in gimmicks, the coalition of opportunists should work towards fulfilling the promises made during the elections, he said.
Slathia lauded the people of the Jammu region for giving the BJP a huge mandate in the recent elections to work for their welfare and to guard against any discrimination. The times have changed and the people will not allow rights of any region and sub region to be usurped.
