Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting two accused involved in the commission of crime in Srinagar and also recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 7th Novement Police Station Shalteng received a complaint from one Shabaz Geelani S/o Anwar Geelani R/o Tawheed Abad Maloora who alleged therein that on 6th Novemeber some unknown burglars entered his residential house at Tawheed Abad Maloora and took away copper utensils, cash, mobile phone etc, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 84/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Shalteng besides initiating further investigation. Police in its statement further said that later on receipt of this input a special team under the supervision of SHO Police Station Shalteng was constituted to identify the accused involved in the commission of crime .
Stating that during the course of investigation, after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs, two accused identified as Shahid Ahmad Bhat S/o Abdul Hamid Bhat and Aqib Ahmad Sofi S/o Bashir Ahmad Sofi R/o Maloora were found to be involved in the commission of crime, Police in its statement further said that both the accused were arrested and upon their disclosure, stolen property was recovered from their possession.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting any suspicious activities in their neighbourhood.
