“This is the real assembly, let’s discuss public issues: RS Pathania

Srinagar : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ran a parallel assembly in the lawns of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday after the legislators from the party were either marshalled out and staged walk out in a protest to demand the roll back of resolution on special status.
The BJP MLA, Sham Lal Sharma, who acted as the Speaker, heard the members, who spoke against the resolution.
“The way our honorable members were marshalled out is hooliganism. We had a lot of hopes with the Speaker because of his experience, but the way we were treated is unfortunate,” Pavan Gupta, a BJP MLA said in a parallel assembly, and condemned the actions within the House.
He added that the people are happy in Kashmir because of the peaceful situation that arose after the scrapping of Article 370.
“This is the real assembly, let’s discuss public issues here, ” MLA R S Pathania said . Several other MLAs, who spoke on the occasion.
Chander Prakash Ganga, a BJP MLA termed the legislators, who brought the posters in the house as separatists.
Pertinently, the majority of legislators from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were marshalled out after they tried to storm into the well of house to demand the roll back of resolution passed on special status in Jammu and Kashmir. Later, the BJP MLAs staged a walk out.
Almost 12 of the BJP MLAs were marshalled out of the house.
The Speaker Abdur Rahim Rather had told the marshalls not to allow them to enter the house.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Leader of Opposition and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sunil Sharma said that the chief minister Omar Abdullah has made a factual statement that the resolution is only a showoff, rest he knows that his generations wouldn’t be able to restore the Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma stated that they ran a parallel assembly as their legislators were marshalled out while they tried to speak on behalf of the people and against the resolution passed on Wednesday.
“It is very unfortunate as for the first time a Speaker is working as the member of any particular party,” he said, adding that the party (NC) after killing civilians here has now been demanding the restoration of Article 370 through a resolution, framed by the Speaker itself.
“We had to raise the issues of the public and ask the government to fulfill the promises done with the people. Therefore, a parallel assembly was run here to raise these issues,” he said.
Furthermore, the LoP said that the chief minister has mentioned that they had to show the world through the resolution, which is true as he has only shown it and knows that his generations would not be able to restore Article 370. “The civil secretariat that had two flags at its top is now having only one flag,” he added and stated Omar has been teaching his two sons how to mislead and befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir
