Resolution In Assembly Just A Begining, Not An End, Continue Fighting Till Spl Status Restoration: Hakeem To NC

Srinagar: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has welcomed the passing of the special status resolution by J&K Assembly,terming it Just a beginning but not the end,calling upon therein ruling National Conference to Carry forward the struggle till restoration of special satus and statehood in its original shape. The PDF Chairman reiterated that restoration of special status is not the agenda of any particular party but uncompromising position of the people of entire Jammu & Kashmir including Ladakh, calling upon all political parties not try to draw political mileage from the issue.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Hakeem said “Passing of the resolution seeking dialogue on restoration of special status by the J&K Assembly is a welcome move but this is just a beginning not an end.Ruling National Conference given the massive mandate for restoration of special status under Article 370 and Article 35 A in recently held assembly elections is mirally duty bound to Carry forward the struggle till restoration of special status and statehood in its original form which also included Ladhak.Let National Conference fulfill its commitment made by to J&K people in its election manifesto at the earliest”.
Hakeem also impressed upon National Conference and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to persuade the main National Opposition “INDIA Alliance” to introduce the J&K Assembly Resolution On Special Status in Parliament reminding therein that National Conference is a strong ally of “INDIA Alliance ” which he said has impressive strength in the parliament. Hakeem also said theatspecial status that special status is not the domain of any particular political party but the uncompromising demand of the people of entire J&K including Ladakh, calling upon all political parties not to try to draw any political mileage from the issue.
