Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma on Monday chaired an extensive review meeting in the Conference Hall, DC Office, focusing on development projects, employment generation, and various public welfare schemes.
The meeting began with a review of directives issued in the previous meeting to assess the progress made across multiple sectors.
The Assistant Director (AD) Tourism was asked to expedite the installation of signages highlighting prominent tourist locations and establish selfie points to enhance the tourism appeal in Rajouri.
Additionally, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) was tasked with submitting a list of school buildings where solar panel installations could be implemented to support sustainable energy use.
Key updates were also reviewed on projects under AMRUT and the progress of forest clearances. The Principal of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) was advised to organize skill development programs for local youth to enable them to perform motor and equipment repairs, thereby enhancing local employment opportunities.
The respective Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) were asked to identify land in Kotranka and Sunderbani for the construction of Gujjar Hostels. They were also instructed to resolve the land dispute at Rehan, which is currently hindering the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme, and to expedite the establishment of Eklavya Model Residential Schools at Manjakote and Darhal.
The review extended to the status of border bunkers, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Rural. Regarding the JJM, the DC emphasized the need for accelerated completion of ongoing projects and urged officials to improve the financial progress of the mission.
To reinforce the check on illegal mining, DC Sharma underscored the formation of a coordinated multi-departmental task force. The departments of Mining, Revenue, Police, Fisheries, and Irrigation and Flood Control were instructed to work together to effectively curb illegal mining activities in the region.
Further reviews included the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) programs, Poshan Tracker, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS), PMAY-U Gram Panchayat, Janani Suraksha Yojana, and E-KYC in the Food Department.
