Srinagar: Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA, on Satursay inaugurated the KD Golf Championship at the Gulmarg Golf Course today, featuring 48 enthusiastic participants. In his address, Shah praised the course, calling it “one of the best in the world,” and promised enhancements to further beautify it within a year.
Following the championship, Shah convened a review meeting with officials to assess preparations for the upcoming winter tourism season. He emphasized the importance of seamless arrangements, including snow clearance, road connectivity, water supply, and emergency services. Officers were instructed to conduct audits of basic amenities and ensure that hotels are prepared to meet tourist needs. Later, Shah inspected the under-construction 30-bed hospital, urging the release of pending funds to meet the March 2025 completion deadline. His commitment to enhancing sports and tourism in the area was evident throughout the day’s activities.
