Pro-tem Speaker reviews arrangements for maiden J&K Assembly Session

Srinagar : Pro-tem Speaker, Mubarak Gul, on Tuesday convened a meeting to review arrangements for the maiden session of current J&K Legislature to be held from 4th of November.
Present in the meeting were the officers from different departments and prominent print and electronic media persons.
The Pro-tem Speaker issued specific directions to the concerned departments for ensuring that all requisite arrangements are put in place for smooth and seamless conduct of maiden session of the J&K legislature.
During his interaction with the media persons, the Pro-tem Speaker asked the concerned to make sure that the media fraternity is facilitated with comfortable and convenient coverage of the assembly sessions. He recalled the efforts of some eminent journalists from Jammu and Kashmir who have made significant contribution towards meaningful debates and productive discussions in the public interest.
He assured that any issues of media related to movement and coverage would be resolved on priority basis. He also sought cooperation from the media towards adherence to ethical standards in coverage of assembly proceedings.
Mubarak Gul impressed upon the Information Department to ensure adequate arrangements are made for the media persons for smooth coverage of house proceedings besides hassle-free interaction with the Speaker and other elected representatives on the sidelines of the session.
Mubarak Gul also directed the Deputy General Manager BSNL to improve the signal strength and network reliability in the Assembly precincts besides installation/restoration of telephone lines in the VIP chambers of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.
Regarding smooth traffic flow, Pro-tem Speaker emphasized upon the concerned to devise people friendly traffic plan for VIP movement and media people while making adequate arrangements for parking space for vehicles of media people.
He also emphasised on regulating entry of visitors into the J&K Legislative Assembly complex through specified gates.
