LG Sinha’s Tribute to Fallen Heroes: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid a wreath in memory of Rfn Jeevan Singh, Rfn Kaisar Ahmad Shah, and Defence Porters Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdary and Zahoor Ahmad Mir, who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Posting on X, he stated, “Paid homage to the brave soldiers and Defence Porters who made the supreme sacrifice in the service to the nation in Butapathri Sector on October 24, 2024. India will never forget their selfless service & their supreme sacrifice. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families.”
Compensation For Porters’ Families: The Jammu and Kashmir government provided Rs 6 lakh each to the families of two army porters killed in a militant attack in Baramulla district. Baramulla Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa delivered the compensation checks to the families of Chaudhary Mushtaq Ahmad and Zahoor Ahmad Mir, who were killed in the attack in Bota Pathri.
LG’s Call For Unity And Cultural Preservation: During an event celebrating the teachings of the 14th-century saint-poet Lalleshwari, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to embrace values of truth, compassion, and unity. He emphasized the significance of art and cultural initiatives in fostering community cohesion.
LG’s Call Against Militancy:- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha directed security agencies to eradicate militancy in Jammu and Kashmir during a high-level Unified Headquarters meeting. He highlighted the need for a robust security framework and cooperation among various agencies in light of recent militant attacks in the region.
4 Killed In Gulmarg Attack: Two soldiers and two civilian porters were killed in a militant attack on an army vehicle near the Nagin post in the Botapathri area of Gulmarg, Baramulla district. The attack, which left three soldiers injured, marked the third such incident in Kashmir within a week.
Tourism Boom In Kashmir: The Kashmir Valley is witnessing a significant rise in tourism, with over 2.6 million visitors recorded from January to September 2024, according to the Tourism Department.
