Srinagar :Ravinder Raina, President, J&K BJP accompanied by the newly elected MLAs and senior leaders of BJP hoisted the ‘Tiranga’ at the District BJP office, Udhampur amid nationalist sloganeering and the distribution of sweets among the party workers.
The Party’s Working President Sat Sharma accompanied by Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, and other senior leaders celebrated the pious occasion by hoisting the ‘Tiranga’ and distributing the sweets at J&K BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. BJP leaders also paid floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh, and Shyama Prasad Mookherjee on the occasion. The national flag was also hoisted on the occasion while paying glorious tributes to the great Maharaja.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the party leaders in Udhampur, said that the decision of Maharaja Hari Singh saved the lives of the residents of Jammu & Kashmir which is evident from the plight of people that are living now in Pakistan. He said that Maharaja Hari Singh is a legendary patriot who paid the heavy price of living in exile for saving the Jammu & Kashmir and hit hard on the nexus of Congress and NC during the days of Independence and partition that bled Jammu & Kashmir from 1947 till 2019 when the draconian Article 370 was revoked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi complete the unification of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India. He congratulated all the residents of Jammu & Kashmir on the auspicious day of 26 October and said that under PM Modi the region is fast moving towards progress and prosperity.
Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion said that this day holds special significance for the residents of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that J&K is celebrating this day as the day has come after many sacrifices by Nationalist workers of Bharatiya Jana Sangha and Praja Parishad. On the occasion, he recalled Maharaja’s role in unnerving the British during the princely meets especially in the round table conferences and the subsequent conspiracies of NC and Congress. He equaled Accession Day to Republic Day and Independence Day as on this day our maharaja made J&K an integral part of India and we all could live a dignified life. He also said that the nation is committed to taking back our legal parts that are under the illegal control of Pakistan and China.
Kavinder Gupta recalled the historic moment of the signing of the accession and then the defeat of the Pakistani army under the disguise of raiders who tried to control the Srinagar airport. He said that the decision of Maharaja to unite J&K in letter and spirit with India was achieved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by revoking Article 370 on August 5, 2019, and voiced the commitment to take back the whole of J&K from the unruly neighbours.
