Leh : The All India Coordinated Research Project on Biological Control of Crop Pests (AICRP-BC), Division of Entomology, FoH, SKUAST-K Shalimar in collaboration with KrishiVigyan Kendra (KVK), Kargil and KVK, Leh conducted material distribution cum Scientist-farmer interaction program at Kargil and Leh on October, 23, 2024 and October, 24, 2024, respectively.
The programme was sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (ICAR-NBAIR), Bangalore. During the program Dr. RizwanaKhursheed (PI) and Dr. Mudasir Gani Bhat, Co-PI gave detailed presentations about the insect pest management in apple and other crops. Dr. Nazir Hussain, Scientist, KVK, Kargil and Dr. Disket Dolkar, Scientist, KVK, Leh stressed upon the management of codling moth in apple and apricot. Other scientists of the said KVK’s were also present in the program. The Knapsack sprayer, Pheromone traps, Gunny cloth and Neem oil was distributed among the 50 farmers of Ladakh under ICAR-NBAIR sponsored Tribal Sub plan (2024-25) during the program.
