MLA Habba Kadal reviews developmental profile of the constituency

Srinagar : Shameema Firdous, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Habakadal Assembly Constituency (AC) Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Officers at Banquet Hall here to take review of the developmental profile of the constituency.
The MLA while addressing the inaugural meeting with Officers sought fullest cooperation of departments in strengthening the public service delivery.
She discussed and deliberated on various public welfare measures and sought details of ongoing activities and requirements, department wise.
Earlier, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Srinagar, S.A Kataria briefed the chair regarding completed work projects and ongoing works in the Habakadal AC.
On the occasion, MLA took stock of various developmental issues pertaining to road widening, electricity, water supply, ration, health, sanitation and other issues of public importance.
In order to prevent traffic gridlocks on various roads leading to and fro Habakadal and pertinent inconvenience to public, Shameema Firdous directed the district authorities to initiate work on road widening programme, which includes road widening of Habakadal-Babapora road, Habakadal-Kanikadal road and Habakadal to Fatehkadal via Chinkral Mohalla road.
She also called for demarcation of Brarinambal Lagoon and its cleansing process.
The MLA directed the concerned officers from KPDCL to ensure strict adherence to power schedule to ensure that consumers may not face inconvenience. The Officers from Jal Shakti department were instructed to make sure smooth supply of potable drinking water to the consumers.
For proper sanitation practices, the MLA directed the Officers from SMC to ensure cleanliness of roads, lanes and bylanes besides garbage being lifted from households routinely.
She also directed for repairing defunct street lights and replacing the faulty ones so that the general public may not face any inconvenience during commute.
The Chief Medical Officer was directed to commence work on the upgradation of PHC Habakadal to facilitate the locals besides ensuring deployment of sufficient staff at the health institution.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Srinagar, S.A Kataria, Jt. Commissioner Works SMC, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical Officer, S.E Drainage, S.E R&B Core Division, Ex. Engineers of various departments.
