Rajouri : The Jammu and Kashmir Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (JKSPYM) State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) on Tuesday organized a one-day training program for Master Volunteers of District Rajouri under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA).
The event, held at Dak Bunglow Rajouri, was conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and the District Administration, Rajouri. As many as 85 master volunteers participated in the training, which was designed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to combat substance abuse and reduce drug demand in the district Rajouri.
District Program Officer CDS Fareed Ahmed Kohli and District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem also attended the event.
In his address, Kohli expressed deep concern over the rising problem of drug use among the youth in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He urged the master volunteers to make the most of the training and fully absorb the knowledge shared during the sessions.
Resource persons from SLCA J&K delivered in-depth presentations that covered the alarming prevalence of drug use in India. The training was divided into four key sessions including Information on Drugs, Drug Use, and its Consequences, District-Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Intervention Spectrum in Drug Treatment and Prevention & Roles and Responsibilities of Master Volunteers/Nasha Mukt Bharat Leaders.
The program not only enhanced the participants’ understanding of the substance abuse crisis but also empowered them to become active change-makers in their communities. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates, symbolizing the beginning of their journey as advocates for a healthier, drug-free Rajouri.
Earlier, the program commenced with a welcome note and an introduction to the JKSPYM organization and SLCA J&K Pallavi Singh, Program Director, JKSPYM.
