Ruman Qayoom, Patwari Halqa Mujagund arrested, Caught red-handed accepting bribe of ₹50000: J&K ACB

Srinagar : J&K Anti Corruption Bureau on Monday said that it has arrested Pathwari Halqa Mujagund as he was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs Fifty Thousand ( Rs 50,000/-)
In a statement issued here on Monday the J&K ACB said that it received a written complaint wherein it was alleged Ruman Qayoom, Patwari Halqa Mujagund is demanding ₹01 lakh as bribe against Registration Stamp duty required for registration of the of the land measuring 02 kanals purchased by the complainant and issuance of revenue extracts thereof.
Stating that the complainant after negotiations settled at ₹50000 as first installment and remaining ₹50000 after completion of the task, the J&K ACB in its statement further said that however, the complainant did not want to pay the bribe and decided to approach the Anti Corruption Bureau with a written complaint for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law.
The J&K ACB in its statement further more said thatoOn receiving the complaint the discreet verification was conducted, which confirmedthe demand by concerned and accordingly Case under FIR No. 22/2024 U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered in this Bureau and investigation was taken up. Stating that during the course of investigation a trap team was constituted which laid a successful trap and caught the accused Ruman Qayoom R/o Sector-C, Gulberg Colony Hyderpora Srinagar red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of ₹50000 from the complainant, the J&K ACB in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that after completing all formalities, the accused was taken into custody and further investigation of the instant case is going on.
