2 drug peddlers arrested in Sopore, Contraband substance recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore and also recovered contraband substance from their possession
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, at a checkpoint established at Adipora Crossing, apprehended two suspects identified as Junaid Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan Mir and Riyaz Ahmad Parra S/O Mohammad Maqbool Parra, both residents of Adipora Sopore.
Stating that during search 7 grams of Heroin were recovered from the possession of the said accused, Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 230 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation. Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
