Ganderbal : A meeting was convened Saturday in the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal, chaired by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, to discuss the observance of Vigilance Week from 28th October to 3rd November, 2024.
The focus of the meeting was to plan various programs and activities aimed at promoting transparency, ethics and accountability in the district during the campaign.
Key issues discussed included the need to combat corruption, encourage active participation of all stakeholders, and ensure the urgent redressal of grievances.
ADDC emphasized the importance of displaying the names and credentials of District Nodal Officers (DNOs) and establishing a mechanism for quick resolution of complaints, with an Action Taken Report (ATR) to be submitted. He also announced that a special pledge against corruption will be taken on 28 October at 11:00 AM to mark the start of Vigilance Week.
The chair highlighted the need for educational initiatives such as rallies and essay competitions and instructed all departments to organize special programs during the week.
Departments were directed to submit activity-wise calendars for the campaign by 21 October. Additionally, a database of grievances, including the dates of receipt and disposal, will be maintained and submitted.
Social media coverage and bulk SMS campaigns were discussed as part of the awareness strategy, with special banners to be designed for the event. Workshops and other awareness activities will be conducted throughout the week to engage the public.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (District Vigilance Officer), Gulzar Ahmad Khan also addressed the officers and officials present, emphasizing the use of the JK Samadhan portal for grievance redressal.
He instructed departments to organize special Gram Sabhas, where information about government schemes will be shared with the public.
The meeting was attended by ACD, ALC, CAO, BDOs and other concerned officers.
