Attestation-cum-passing out parade held at STC BSF Udhampur

Udhampur : A grand Attestation-cum-passing out Parade was held on Saturday at the Subsidiary Training Centre BSF Roun Domel, Dhar Road Udhampur district.
The event was graced by Rajesh Kumar Gurung, Inspector General of the Subsidiary Training Centre, Udhampur, as the Chief Guest, who received the salute from the parade.
A total of 312 new recruits from the states of Andhra Pradesh (120), Odisha (190) and West Bengal (2) participated in the parade after completing their 44 weeks of rigorous basic training. They took the oath of service to the nation and are now ready to proceed to their respective duty postings.
The Chief Guest commended the officers and instructors of the Centre for providing exceptional basic training to the new recruits, molding them into hardworking, courageous, and disciplined soldiers. He expressed his appreciation for their dedicated efforts.
In recognition of excellence, the Chief Guest awarded trophies to recruit constables who excelled in various disciplines.
Sonam Shering, Commandant (Trg), extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers of District Udhampur, prominent citizens from the surrounding area, senior officers of the Central Police Forces, teachers, school children, families of the recruit constables and other officers and personnel from the Centre, all of whom encouraged the new recruits.
Following the parade, the recruits demonstrated various Indian martial arts, including Lathi Khela from West Bengal, “Karra Samu” from Andhra Pradesh, and “Kalaripayattu” from Kerala.
A vibrant patriotic cultural program was also presented by students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Government Higher Secondary School, Juganoo, which was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The event concluded with a captivating performance by the band squad of the Border Security Force, which entertained the crowd with its melodious tunes.
