Chandigarh : The University of Jammu secured a resounding victory over R.T.M. University Nagpur by 9 wickets in the All India Vice-Chancellor’s Cup 2024, organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh.
After winning the toss, R.T.M. University Nagpur opted to bat first, managing to post a total of 107 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs. NinadRaut top-scored for Nagpur with 48 runs off 42 balls, while Akshay contributed 11 runs from 18 balls.
The bowling attack of the University of Jammu was led by Rajesh, who took 3 wickets for 23 runs. Raj Kumar Bakshi and Karan took 2 wickets each, while Niranjan and Balwant claimed 1 wicket each, restricting the opposition to a modest total.
In reply, the University of Jammu chased down the target effortlessly, scoring 108 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in just 12.2 overs. Suheel played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 42 runs from 37 balls, supported by ShantulRaina’s explosive 33 runs off 19 balls and Ameet’s 22 not out from 18 balls. For R.T.M. University Nagpur, MehinderBhau took the only wicket, conceding 23 runs.
Rajesh was declared the Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
The Director of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Dr. DaudIqbal Baba, congratulated the team for their remarkable performance. The team’s Manager, Sh. ParshotamLal, and Assistant Manager, Sh. Mohit, also extended their congratulations to the victorious team.
