New Delhi : Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, stressed that India cannot foster friendly relations with Pakistan unless it halts its support for terrorism.
In an interview with INAS Wire Service, Khatana remarked, “Pakistan must stop fueling and supporting militancy on Indian soil for any form of friendship to materialize.”
Khatana drew attention to the vastly different developmental trajectories of the two countries, despite gaining independence together in 1947. He stated, “Pakistan should remember that both nations gained independence at the same time. While India has developed robust infrastructure and achieved global respect, Pakistan is primarily recognized for its association with terrorism on the world stage.”
He further noted that, while India has become a developed nation, Pakistan continues to struggle for international recognition. Khatana attributed Pakistan’s lack of progress to its focus on hostility, poverty, and its attempts to destabilize India instead of addressing internal challenges.
Khatana lauded India’s global contributions, particularly in terms of its human resources. He emphasized, “Indian talent is playing a vital role in the world’s growth and development, whereas Pakistan remains trapped in a cycle of animosity and poverty”, he added.
