Bandipora: Government Degree College (GDC) Sumbal on Thursday organized an Orientation program for first semester students in the college auditorium.
The programme was held under the patronage of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) ShabeenaIqbal Shawl.
The primary aim of the program was to welcome and familiarize new students with college protocol, rules and regulations.
The event commenced with opening remarks from Dr.NuzhatGulKababi, Convener of the Career Counseling Cell and Staff Secretary, followed by screening of “College Tarana” and a motivational video about college life.
The keynote address was delivered by the Principal, who expressed her gratitude for the lively atmosphere on campus, noting the students’ punctuality and commitment to attend classes in proper uniform.
She emphasized the importance of balancing curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities for the holistic development of students and assured her unwavering support to both faculty and students in recognition of their dedication and hard work.
A number of faculty members, including Dr. NikhatNabi, Dean of Students’ Welfare, Dr. Fahima Gull, Convener IIC; Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Parey, Convener, Sports; Prof. Ishtiyaq, NSS Program Officer and Prof. Ishfaq, Convener of the Financial Aid Committee, also addressed the attendees.
They provided insights into various committees and their roles within the college. The program was well-attended by faculty and a substantial number of students from the 1st, 2nd, and 5th semesters.
