Jammu: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the annual Jhiri Mela.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shishir Gupta, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Brijesh Kumar Sharma, Mela Officer and other concerned district officers from different departments.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for seamless coordination among all departments to ensure the safety and convenience of the large number of devotees expected to attend the mela. He stressed the importance of making adequate arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, healthcare and security.
The Jhiri Mela, celebrated annually, draws thousands of pilgrims and tourists to the Marh area, necessitating well-structured logistical support. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to complete all arrangements well in advance, including traffic management and crowd control, to facilitate smooth proceedings.
