Jammu: Jammu Police have successfully solved a disturbing murder case following the report of a missing person filed on September 29, 2024. Sandeep Singh, a resident of Gali Khilona in Pacca Danga, was reported missing after being last seen on that date.
A statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu reads “Intensive investigations revealed that Singh had been kidnapped and murdered by Pardeep Singh, son of Sher Singh, from Prem Nagar, Jammu. Pardeep allegedly lured Sandeep to Reasi under the false pretense of repaying a debt of ₹1,30,000, which he had lost while gambling.” “Tragically, on September 27, Pardeep is accused of pushing Sandeep into the Chenab River at Talwara, resulting in his death. Acting on Pardeep’s confession, police were able to recover Sandeep’s body from the river,” reads the statement.
Further inquiries led to the identification of Rajinder Singh as a conspirator, who owed ₹25,000 to the victim. Both Pardeep and Rajinder have been arrested, and an FIR (No. 117/2024) has been filed under relevant sections of the law.
