Baramulla: In preparation for the vote counting for the General Legislative Assembly Elections scheduled for tomorrow, October 8, 2024, General Observers along with the District Election Officer (DEO) visited the Indoor Sports Stadium in Khawjabagh, Baramulla, to inspect the final arrangements.
The DEO informed that seven counting halls have been established at the venue, with counting staff deployed through a randomization process in line with the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines. All staff members have undergone necessary training to ensure the vote counting proceeds efficiently.
As part of the security and transparency measures, the entire process will be monitored through a robust CCTV surveillance system installed across the venue.
A fully functional Media Centre has also been established to ensure real-time updates and communication with the public. Furthermore, mobile deposit counters have been set up to facilitate the smooth handling of deposits for safe keeping.
Additional facilities, including a communication room, public communication room, official communication room, and an Observers room, have been established to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the event.
Essential services, including medical teams, fire and emergency services have also been deployed, and a Public Address System has been put in place to manage announcements during the counting process.
Meanwhile, a comprehensive mock run was conducted across all seven counting halls at the venue, under the supervision of Election Observers and the District Election Officer (DEO), to ensure that staff is thoroughly prepared for the counting process.
The General Observers and DEO expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, reiterating the administration’s commitment to a transparent, efficient, and secure vote counting process in full compliance with ECI guidelines.
