Jammu: In a drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators, especially during election period, Jammu Police has initiated strict action against the criminals involved in illegal mining & minting money out of the public resources.
In a statement issued here from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that In an operation carried out at different locations in South Zone of District Jammu Police Post Phallain Mandal under Police Sub Inspector Harish Chander detained 5 vehicles loaded with sand seized under illegal mining, adding therein that Police Post Belicharana under Police Sub Inspector Rajesh Chaudhary seized one vehicle. Police in its statement also said that some vehicles had no registration number on them.
Stating that In all, 6 vehicles were seized in jurisdiction of Police Station Satwari of City’s South Zone , Police in its statement further said that after detaining these vehicles District Mining Officer was informed for necessary legal actions , reiterating therein its commitment to protect public property and eradicate the menace of illegal mining in the area.
