Srinagar, Oct 7: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief and former chief minister of the erstwhile state, Dr Farooq Abdullah Monday said he will accept PDP’s support ‘from the core of his heart.’
Commenting on the administration’s move of nominating five members for the legislative assembly, Abdullah said only the elected government has a right to do so.
Kashmir, he said is an important region, “it borders the two enemies, J&K’s welfare is the whole country’s welfare,” he said.
When asked possibilities of horse-trading as the votes are counted, Farooq said, let those who want to get involved in it get involved.
On AIP chief’s suggestion to political leaders in Kashmir on delaying government formation to pressure the GoI to restore J&K’s statehood, Farooq said he wonders what brought Rashid out of prison.
“If he was in jail, who released him and why, when others are languishing in prison. What happened to Rashid’s slogan of plebiscite for Kashmir,” Dr Farooq asked.
Dr Farooq also urged the world powers to stop the ongoing wars in the West Asia and Ukraine.
“If they want this planet to survive, they should put an end to these wars,” he said.
