Jammu : The Cyber Cell of District Police Office (DPO) Jammu has successfully resolved three online fraud cases, demonstrating exceptional skill and prompt action.
According to a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu in the first case, a victim reported a financial fraud amounting to Rs. 77,000, where the fraudster lured the victim with a work-from-home scheme, resulting in a loss of hard-earned money.
In a second incident, the complainant fell victim to a scammer posing as a credit card customer care representative, leading to a transaction of Rs. 50,127 from the complainant’s account. The third case involved a fraudulent online financial transaction of Rs. 1,55,550. The complainant received a fake text message indicating a credit, which led to the loss of funds.
With the timely intervention and expertise of the Cyber Cell, investigations were initiated promptly. The specialized teams effectively halted Rs. 2,35,583 of a total Rs. 2,82,677 that could have been misused through fraudulent means. The District Police Jammu continues to utilize advanced technology and skilled personnel to address the concerns of the public swiftly.
