Jammu: In a swift response to a theft complaint, the Jammu Police apprehended a juvenile suspect in the Bishnah area on October 2, 2024. The incident involved the theft of a purse containing cash and debit/credit cards from a parked vehicle near Ravi Dass Mandir.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that Angad Raj, a resident of Palli Morh, lodged a complaint at the Bishnah Police Station and alleged therein that unknown thieves had broken the car’s mirror and stolen ₹5,000 in cash along with various bank cards. Police in its statement further said that following this, FIR No. 156/2024 was registered under Section 305(C) BNS besides initiating investigation.
Stating that the police team, led by the SHO Bishnah, collected CCTV footage from several locations and analyzed technical intelligence, Police in its statement further said that this investigative effort led to the identification of a juvenile suspect, whose name has been withheld, from the Tehsil Bishnah area. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that upon apprehending the suspect a thorough interrogation was carried out during which the said accused confessed his involvement in the theft, adding therein that based on disclosures of the accused the authorities recovered the stolen purse and several debit/credit cards.
