Jammu: In a swift operation, the Jammu Police in Akhnoor have arrested three individuals linked to a high-profile snatching case that resulted in the theft of approximately Rs 150,000 from a wine shop. The incident occurred on September 19, when Suresh Kumar, the shop owner, reported that three armed assailants attacked his salesman, threatening him with firearms.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that following the filing of FIR No. 167/2024 under various sections, including 126(2), 115(2), and 307, a thorough investigation was launched by the police. Stating that the team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Akhnoor, meticulously analyzed CCTV footage from the scene, Police in its above referred statement said that this critical evidence aided in the identification and apprehension of the suspects.
Police in its statement identified the said accused arrested by it as: Amit Pawa @ Sundi, son of Late Ashok Kumar, resident of Gigrial Khour, currently residing in Devipur, Teh. Jourian, Ashok Singh @ Raja, son of Devi Singh, resident of Danwal, Tehsil Khour, & Vishal Sharma @ Vishu, son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Galwade Chak, Tehsil Marh. During questioning, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime. Stating that on the disclosures of the said accused several items linked to the offense were recovered , Police in its statement further said that the items recovered there include: One illegal firearm (Desi katta), One motorcycle (Glamour) with registration number JK02AV/9058, One wooden lathi and One black bag. Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that the all three suspects are considered hardcore criminals with extensive records of previous offenses, adding therein that “Further investigations are ongoing to determine any additional connections the suspects may have to other criminal activities.”
