Dr. Farooq, Altaf Bukhar pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi On The Eve Of “Gandhi Jyanti”

Srinagar : President J&K National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah and President J&K Apni Party Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in their separate statements on Wednesday said paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birthday popularly called “ Gandhi Jyanti”.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday the J&K National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah said that the Gandhi Jayanti is not only commemorated as the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi but also his timeless values of non-violence, social justice and communal harmony. In his “Gandhi Jyanti” message Dr Farooq also said “It was he who saw the ray of hope in Kashmir when the rest of the country had been taken over by the communal frenzy. We the people of J&K also saw the paradise of our ideas in the efforts of Gandhi.”
In the concluding para of his “Gandhi Jyanti” message Dr Farooq said “It was in his vision of a free India that we saw the dream of Naya Kashmir come true. It was his ideology that drove J&K towards India,” adding therein that the need of hour calls for strengthening those values.
In a similar message on the occasion of “Gandhi Jayanti” the President J&K Apni Party Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also paid glowing tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. In his message the Apni Party President Said, “This special day not only marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi but also celebrates his enduring philosophy of peace and non-violence, which continues to resonate with people across the nation.” He further said, “The Father of the Nation taught us how to peacefully resist injustice and oppression, and how to stand up for justice and the fundamental rights of the people, without resorting to violence. His teachings and principles will forever serve as a beacon of light for our nation, guiding us toward a life of peace and harmony. Let’s strive to uphold these values in our everyday lives. Happy Gandhi Jayanti!”
