Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Srigufwara at checkpoint established at Nowshara crossing intercepted a suspect identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir S/o Showkat Ahmad Mir R/o Sirhama, Srigufwara , adding therein that during search 4Kgs of Bung Boosa was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 83/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Srigufwara besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
