Jammu: The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Jammu has filed a comprehensive 142-page charge-sheet against Navdeep Singh and his father, Nirmal Singh, both residents of Sehora near Ravi Dass Ji Mandir, Kunjwani, in connection with a fraud and impersonation case. This action follows their involvement in cheating the complainant, Jarnail Singh, out of Rs. 4.05 lakh.
As per an official statement, the charge-sheet was presented in the Hon’ble Court of Sub-Judge 13 FC Jammu under case FIR No. 26/2022, which includes charges under sections 419, 420, 465, 467, and 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). “The investigation, led by Inspector Deepak Thakur and supervised by SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta, revealed a scheme where the accused induced Singh to provide advance payment for the installation of electrical poles,” reads the statement.
According to the complaint, Singh was promised compensation for supervising the installation of 13 HVDS electrical poles at DT 56 Sector 4, Channi Himmat, and 32 poles at RC Feeder-1, Gandhi Nagar. The accused claimed they would cover installation costs, but ultimately misled Singh, resulting in substantial financial loss.
