TLSC G’bal, Wullar-Manasbal Dev Authority Join Hands to Celebrate World Tourism Day

G’bal: In a bid to promote responsible tourism practices, the Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Ganderbal, in collaboration with Wullar-Manasbal Development Authority, Ganderbal, celebrated World Tourism Day at Manasbal Park.
The event was held under the supervision of Abdul Nasir, Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman District Legal Services Authority) Ganderbal & Ms. Tabasum, Secretary (Incharge), District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, and guidance of Mr. Mohammad Waseem Mirza, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Ganderbal, the event aimed to emphasize legal responsibilities in maintaining ecological balance. Umar Shafi, Chief Executive Officer, Wullar-Manasbal Development Authority, educated participants on the significance of World Tourism Day highlighted Tourism’s economic benefits for local communities, Importance of preserving natural and cultural heritage, Role of sustainable tourism in environmental conservation, Opportunities for employment and skill development, etc. Adv. Aqib-Ul-Ahad Wani highlighted tourism’s role in fostering development, global harmony, and peace, stating, “Tourism brings people together.” He emphasized sustainable tourism’s potential to transform communities, create jobs, and promote economic interdependence. He also highlighted key legal responsibilities, including Preservation of natural resources, Protection of wildlife and their habitats, Conservation of water bodies, Reduction of plastic waste, Respect for local regulations and traditions. Students of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Safapora, Govt. High School, Kondbal, Ganderbal, Valley Lake School, Safapora, New Delight School, Safapora participated in the event and also delivered speeches, performed skits etc. The Programme was attended by Mr. Umar Shafi, Chief Executive Officer, Wullar-Manasbal Development Authority, Ganderbal, Mr. Kaiser Beigh, Assistant Executive Engineer, R&B Sub-division, Safapora, Ganderbal, Mr. Mohammad Aslam Naiku, Assistant Tourist Officer, Manasbal, Ganderbal, officers, officials & casual Labourers of Wullar-Manasbal Development Authority, Ganderbal, Teachers and Students of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Safapora, Govt. High School, Kondbal, Ganderbal, Valley Lake School, Safapora, New Delight School, Safapora , Local Shopkeepers, etc. The Chief Executive Officer, Wullar-Manasbal Development Authority, Ganderbal along with other officers, distributed awards among the participants who actively participated in various activities.
